SAEDNEWS: In an interview with China’s CCTV, Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that countering unilateralism and supporting multilateralism requires the practical implementation of the frameworks agreed upon at the Shanghai Summit, warning that the US and Israel pose a threat to global peace.
According to Saed News, on Monday, September 2, 2025 (Iran time), Masoud Pezeshkian in parts of an interview with China’s CCTV stated that “China is a country progressing rapidly with unity, cohesion, and decisive, coordinated leadership,” adding that the country has fully scientific, expert-based, and purposeful development plans. He described this political process as very positive for moving away from unilateralism and promoting multilateralism.
He continued: “If we are to distance ourselves from unilateralism, we must essentially follow the frameworks that have now been written and signed at this summit. The United States and those in power want to implement their policies in the region through force and sanctions and prevent countries from stepping outside the frameworks they have created.”
The President emphasized: “If we want to step outside this framework, we must implement in practice what we have written in previous and future meetings regarding behavior change against unilateralism. This means engagement, trade, and not listening to their words about sanctions.”
Pezeshkian added: “We must uphold justice, fairness, and law among ourselves and other countries, and strive to share development worldwide. China, which now leads this approach and policy, is expected to provide the platform for these lofty goals.”
He recalled: “If the United States and Israel, who currently rely on power rather than logic in the region, continue to bomb anyone opposing them, assassinate political leaders, and target ordinary citizens and scientists, and countries attempting to act outside the set frameworks do not unite, authoritarianism will gradually reach China as well.”
The President said: “The United States considers China its greatest rival in its formulated policies. It claims it can stand against others through force, weapons, threats, or sanctions. If it can gradually separate countries cooperating with China, China will stand alone, making it difficult to counter US actions.”
Pezeshkian continued: “The slogan that China’s leadership has presented for development, security, and global peace must be followed by all countries seeking peace and security to stand together against illegal, inhumane, and unfair actions. If this happens, what China’s leadership seeks, including its vision for global governance, can gain practical mechanisms to prevent those undermining global peace from running amok.”
