SAEDNEWS: In a letter from the foreign ministers of the three European countries to the United Nations Security Council, it was stated: “We, the foreign ministers of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, have a fundamental shared goal, which is that Iran never pursues ‘acquisition or development of nuclear weapons.’”
The foreign ministers of the three European countries that are members of the JCPOA, on 6 Shahrivar (August 28), announced in a letter to the United Nations Security Council the initiation of the process to activate the dispute resolution mechanism in the nuclear agreement (JCPOA), known as the “snapback.”
According to SAED NEWS, a section of the letter reads: “We, the foreign ministers of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, have a fundamental shared goal, which is that Iran never pursues ‘acquisition or development of nuclear weapons.’ We negotiated this agreement believing that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) could decisively ensure the exclusively peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program. The United Nations Security Council also unanimously supported the JCPOA by adopting Resolution 2231 on July 20, 2015. This agreement was an important achievement in the field of non-proliferation and, as a result, contributed to strengthening international peace and security.”
