Larijani: Highlighting Disagreements During Ceasefire a Strategic Mistake

Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and advisor to the Supreme Leader, met with a group of prominent religious preachers to hear their candid opinions and engage in discussion.

According to Saed News, during the meeting, he addressed the country’s situation in the post-ceasefire phase with the enemy and highlighted the importance of national unity as a crucial element of the country’s deterrence strategy. He stated: “National unity is by no means a marginal issue; it is a fundamental pillar of the country. In fact, one prominent international figure told me in a meeting that during the 12-day war, the world witnessed the national unity of the Iranian people.”

Larijani further emphasized that maintaining national cohesion today requires significant effort and described attempts by some to disrupt this unity as a miscalculation.

He explained that some believe the war has ended and seek to fragment society. While differences in methods and solutions are natural, highlighting these disagreements during the post-ceasefire period constitutes a strategic error.

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council also identified the economic well-being of the people as a key tool for preserving national cohesion, noting that the government has taken serious measures to ensure citizens’ economic security.
