SAEDNEWS: In a phone call, Putin briefed Iran’s President Pezeshkian on the Alaska summit with U.S. leaders, while both sides discussed Ukraine, Iran’s nuclear program, energy cooperation, and the South Caucasus. They agreed to meet in person at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in China.

“Vladimir Putin,” the President of Russia, and “Masoud Pezeshkian,” the President of Iran, held a telephone conversation.

In this call, Putin presented a report on the most important outcomes of the recent summit between Russian and American leaders in Alaska.

Pezeshkian also expressed his support for diplomatic efforts aimed at peacefully resolving the Ukraine crisis.

The two sides exchanged views on a range of important bilateral issues, including cooperation in the fields of energy and transportation.

Issues related to Iran’s nuclear program and developments in the South Caucasus region were also reviewed.

Putin and Pezeshkian emphasized their determination to strengthen Iran–Russia cooperation in various fields.

The parties agreed to hold an in-person meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in China.
