SAEDNEWS: The media outlet of Hassan Rouhani, the former president of the country, provided explanations about why he said that America is the headman of the Europeans.

Why did Rouhani call America the headman (Kadkhoda)?

According to the political service of SaedNews, Afkar News wrote:

For some time, a number of politicians have insisted on making a misleading keyword out of a statement and keep insisting on it. One of these words is headman (Kadkhoda). Repeatedly, from time to time, some stir things up, saying: America is not our headman… and those whose headman is America… this and that!

Rouhani’s Telegram channel wrote: ‘The photo of Trump’s meeting with European leaders in the Oval Office, with that arrangement of chairs and the way the U.S. president was sitting behind the desk, has received wide attention, and some Iranian users have recalled Dr. Rouhani’s famous expression; the same one he said in the third debate of the 2013 election: “America is the headman of the Europeans.” But from where did this perception of Rouhani and his description of America as the headman of Europe originate? In Esfand 1383 (March 2005), Rouhani, as Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, traveled to Paris and Berlin; in the Élysée Palace he met Jacques Chirac, and in Berlin he met Gerhard Schröder, the then Chancellor of Germany.’

The report stated: ‘The German Chancellor requested the continuation of negotiations and said: “Negotiations must continue. We three countries must also talk about your proposals. If I alone choose one, I would not have acted professionally. I have also spoken with Chirac and I am aware of your negotiations with Chirac.” But then Schröder delivered his main point: “The problem is not that we and you convince each other; there are others (America) who must also be convinced.” And here it became completely clear to Rouhani that Europe, without America, does not have the permission or the will to resolve the issue, and he immediately responded to Schröder that this means our negotiations with Europe in the absence of America are useless. In the end, Rouhani also told his delegation: “Apparently, we must negotiate with their boss.”’
