"August 17 (26 Mordad) marks the anniversary of the heroic return of Iran’s freed prisoners to the warm embrace of the Islamic homeland. It reminds us of divine patience, iron will, and steadfast faith that raised the flag of honor and pride of the Iranian nation even in the harshest trials.
These unsung heroes not only resisted the plots of the Ba’athist enemy and its Western and Eastern backers with courage and resilience during captivity, but after returning, they actively and inspiringly contributed to scientific, cultural, administrative, social, and developmental fields, becoming a driving force for the lofty goals and ideals of the Islamic Revolution. Their enduring roles have helped pave the way for the nation’s civilization-building path.
Dear freed prisoners symbolize active resistance and strategic hope—the same truth reflected in the eight-year Sacred Defense, the 12-day conflict, the Palestinian resistance front, and repeated defeats of the Zionist regime and its American supporters in the region. Their experience proves that faith, national unity, and revolutionary perseverance can bring even the largest war machines and hegemonic policies to their knees.
