SAEDNEWS: During his visit to Baghdad, Ali Larijani highlighted joint Iran-Iraq efforts against terrorist groups as vital for regional stability, meeting with Iraq’s top leaders.
According to Saed News citing ISNA, Ali Larijani, in an interview conducted on Monday during his flight to Iraq, referred to the details of his meetings with Iraqi officials and stated that disruptive elements and terrorist networks in the region are fluid in nature. “When two important countries like Iran and Iraq are determined to prevent the unconventional actions of certain terrorist groups, the outcome can contribute to stability across the region. I believe this issue is important for both countries and the region as a whole,” he said.
Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadeq, Iran’s ambassador to Baghdad, described the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council’s trip to Iraq as significant given the sensitive regional situation, emphasizing the need for exchanging views and coordinating positions during this visit.
It is worth noting that during his trip to Baghdad, Iran’s top security official met with the Prime Minister, the President, the Speaker of Parliament, the National Security Advisor, and several leaders of Iraqi political parties.
