SAEDNEWS: Iraq's parliament passed a resolution in 2020, calling on the government to expel American troops from the country
A spokesperson for Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee says a delegation of commission members, currently in Iraq, has emphasized the need for the expulsion of American forces from the Arab country.
Ebrahim Rezaei said that the delegation raised the issue of the U.S. troop presence in a meeting with the representatives of Karbala province in the Iraqi Parliament on Wednesday.
According to him, Iranian Lawmaker Mahmoud Nabavian, during the meeting presented a report on the 12-day defense of the Iranian nation in an unprovoked war launched by the Israeli regime against the Islamic Republic.
“The report clarified that all the actions of the Zionist regime were with the direct orders and support of the Americans and distinguishing Israel from and the United States is a strategic mistake,” Rezaei said, adding that it also highlighted the untrustworthiness of the U.S. and Israel’s desire for territorial expansion.
Referring to the recent war of aggression, Ali Khazerian, another lawmaker pointed to Israeli use of Iraqi skies, calling it a violation of the Arab country’s sovereignty, and that a serious response should be given to such violation.
Rezaei continued by stating that apart from the Iraqi parliament’s resolution on the expulsion of American forces, it was also recalled in this meeting that all capacities should also be utilized to deal with Israeli spies in Iraq.
Al- Khafaji, the representative of Karbala in the Iraqi parliament, while congratulating the Iranian nation on the victory in the recent war, described it as a source of pride for Muslims.
He also stated that the Iraqi people, and government consider the occupying Zionist regime as invalid and fake, that seeks to occupy other countries.
