SAEDNEWS: Yemen’s Foreign Ministry in Sana’a has sharply denounced the UN secretary general’s Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, lambasting him for overt bias in favor of Israel and ignoring the regime’s ongoing war crimes in Gaza.
According to Saednews, Yemen’s Foreign Ministry condemned the recent statement attributed to the UN envoy regarding the situation in the Red Sea.
The ministry said the envoy's remarks reflect a clear lack of neutrality and disregard the fundamental causes of rising tensions in the region.
It added that the UN representative deliberately ignored the genocidal crimes committed by the Israeli regime in Gaza—crimes occurring openly under the eyes of the United Nations.
The statement accused the envoy of issuing an imbalanced and partial declaration.
It further criticized the UN official for remaining silent in the face of Israeli aggression against civilians and urban infrastructure in Yemen.
Yemen’s Foreign Ministry reiterated its stance on the security and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.
It clarified that maritime restrictions in the region target only Israeli vessels.
The ministry emphasized that this restriction came only after the international community and the United Nations failed to halt Israeli attacks or lift the siege on Gaza—over 21 months into the crisis.
The statement said the purpose of blocking Israeli shipping is to apply pressure on the regime to end its aggression, lift the blockade, and allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.
