President Lauds Iranian Nurses for Their Dedication During Israeli Aggression

President Masoud Pezeshkian has thanked health workers, particularly nurses, for their sincere services during last month’s Israeli war of aggression against Iran.

In a message on Wednesday, the president said that nurses and other health workers did not abandon their duties during the 12-day aggression. Instead, they compassionately cared for those in need, just as they did during the COVID-19 pandemic, he added, according to a news release by the presidential office.

This has added another “golden chapter” to the record of Iran’s healthcare achievements, the president added.

Pezeshkian also said that the dedication of health workers was part of the broader national solidarity shown by various sectors of society during the Israeli war of aggression last month.

“During the unjust aggression against our beloved homeland by the illegitimate Zionist regime, backed by the United States, we witnessed remarkable displays of solidarity, sacrifice, and a strong sense of responsibility from people from all walks of life and in different fields,” he noted.

President Pezeshkian said this cohesion and unity will safeguard the country’s independence and development in the face of external threats.

Israel attacked Iran in an unprovoked act of aggression on June 13, assassinating military commanders and nuclear scientists in targeted strikes, and killing civilians in air raids on residential areas. The U.S. also entered the war on its ninth day by bombing three major Iranian nuclear sites. Iran responded powerfully by striking targets in Israel and a U.S. airbase in Qatar.
