SAEDNEWS: The director of Gaza’s Al-Shifa Medical Complex warned that the Zionist regime’s deliberate fuel blockade has brought the hospital to the brink of total shutdown.

Gaza’s Largest Hospital Plunges into Darkness

Mohammed Abu Salmiya, director of Al-Shifa, Gaza’s largest hospital, announced that fuel reserves have run out and electricity has been completely cut.

He stated that critical departments are now facing collapse as the occupation tightens its siege and denies fuel deliveries to medical facilities.

“This fuel crisis continues relentlessly,” Abu Salmiya said.

“At any moment, the hospital can stop functioning.”

He added that Zionist forces allow only a trickle of fuel, an inhumane tactic designed to keep the health sector in permanent crisis.

If this blockade persists, he warned, all units will inevitably shut down.

Abu Salmiya described the hospital’s conditions as catastrophic, with an influx of over 50 martyrs and more than 100 wounded every day while intensive care wards lack beds and equipment.

He emphasized that the staff has no means to manage the overwhelming emergency.

“The health situation across Gaza is collapsing,” he said.

“For weeks, we have warned about fuel shortages. Now, we are in a state of emergency. If no fuel arrives, generators will fail, and hospitals will be unable to provide any treatment.”

Blood banks, incubators, and oxygen stations have already ceased functioning due to the blockade.

Abu Salmiya confirmed that without immediate fuel deliveries, “patients and the wounded will face certain death.”

He also reported a dangerous surge in meningitis infections caused by Israel’s denial of clean water and medical supplies.

In a statement, Al-Shifa’s administration declared that the total power cut has left patients in intensive care and premature infants directly threatened by death.

The statement described an imminent humanitarian disaster, with hundreds of patients enduring life-threatening conditions as vital services stop.

Current fuel supplies can only last for one more day, and there is no alternative to operate essential equipment.

If fuel does not reach the hospital within hours, the administration warned, a massive tragedy will unfold.

Gaza’s Health Ministry confirmed that the occupiers’ obstruction of fuel entry has worsened the medical catastrophe.

The ministry called on all international organizations and human rights bodies to act immediately to break the blockade and uphold their responsibilities to protect Gaza’s collapsing health system.
