SAEDNEWS: Iran’s ambassador in Moscow called on member states of the S.C.O. to adopt a unified and collective stance toward the recent aggression of the Israeli regime against Iran.
Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali has highlighted the Islamic Republic of Iran’s legitimate response to the recent aggression of the Israeli regime, calling on the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (S.C.O.) to adopt a unified and collective stance toward the act of aggression of the regime and its supporters.
Speaking at the third meeting of the Industry Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Yekaterinburg, Russia, on Monday, Jalali said that the aggression, backed by Western powers, targeted not only military positions but also hospitals, power plants, and nuclear scientists.
He further highlighted the fact that the Israeli regime is not a member of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (N.P.T.) and the Chemical Weapons Convention (C.W.C.), condemning the West’s double standards when it comes to the regime’s actions.
The ambassador said that the world is witnessing the Western powers’ unprecedented assault on international laws and the principles of multilateralism.
He described the S.C.O. meeting as an opportunity to coordinate policies of the member states in the face of global challenges.
The S.C.O., as an intergovernmental body, was founded in 2001 by China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Current members include Iran, Russia, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Belarus.
