SAEDNEWS: More than 130 humanitarian organizations called for the immediate dismantling of the Israeli- and US-supported Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, denouncing it as a tool of calculated Israeli aggression that leaves starving Palestinians facing gunfire and deprivation.
According to Saednews, In a statement on Monday, the NGOs, including Oxfam and Amnesty International, accused Israeli forces and allied groups of routinely shooting civilians desperate for food.
Since the infamous GHF began operations in late May, over 500 Palestinians have been killed trying to access aid, with nearly 4,000 wounded, according to the groups.
They condemned the distribution model as a gross violation of humanitarian law, describing it as a system designed to herd Gaza’s 2.2 million residents into exposed, militarized zones under constant Israeli attack.
“Palestinians in Gaza face an impossible choice: starve or risk being shot while trying desperately to feed their families,” the statement declared.
Orphaned children and caregivers were among the dead, with children injured in more than half of the attacks on civilians at these sites.
The GHF has dismantled over 400 local distribution points established during a brief ceasefire, replacing them with only four heavily militarized centers under Israeli command.
Three of these sites are located in southern Gaza and one in the center, leaving northern residents even more vulnerable to hunger.
Palestinian civil society leader Amjad Shawa told Al Jazeera that the GHF deliberately withholds supplies to force civilians further south in line with Israel’s broader military agenda.
“They deliver tiny portions of food – a few energy bars, some rice and oil – not enough to sustain anyone,” he said.
“This is no humanitarian operation; it is a calculated mechanism of displacement and collective punishment.”
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres last week condemned the GHF as “inherently unsafe.”
Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that troops were ordered to fire on unarmed Palestinians to scatter them from aid convoys.
On Tuesday, Israeli soldiers killed at least 16 people who approached GHF trucks in Deir el-Balah, Al Jazeera reported, citing medical sources who said at least 44 Palestinians were killed across Gaza that day.
As the outcry grew, Israeli officials arrived in Washington for ceasefire discussions with US counterparts, though progress remained stalled.
Qatari officials confirmed efforts to revive negotiations but noted Israel’s refusal to engage.
Hamas official Osama Hamdan said there had been no communication from Israel for weeks.
“We are determined to pursue a ceasefire that will save our people,” he said.
Meanwhile, Israeli leaders claimed their ground assault was nearing its objectives and hinted at plans to exploit the chaos to recover captives, further exposing the cynical use of starvation as a weapon.
