The Reconstruction of Tabriz Airport Runways Has Begun Rapidly

According to Saednews, Mohammad Amirani, CEO of the Airports and Air Navigation Company, visited Tabriz Airport to inspect the damages caused by the recent Zionist regime attack on the airport’s airside areas. During his visit, he met and held talks with Bahram Sarmast, the governor of East Azerbaijan Province.

The CEO stated that due to the damage inflicted on the transportation infrastructure of East Azerbaijan, especially the airside areas of Shahid Madani International Airport in Tabriz during the recent Zionist regime aggression against Iran, and given the importance of the Azerbaijan region and the resilience of its brave people, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development has tasked them to promptly assess the damages and begin reconstruction operations.

Regarding the status of Shahid Madani International Airport in Tabriz, he said: In the recent unjust attack by the child-killing regime, both runways of Tabriz Airport were damaged, and reconstruction work started immediately after the ceasefire was announced. The contractor as well as airport managers and staff are working around the clock to repair the runway and airside areas.

Amirani expressed hope that the airport will soon be ready to receive and dispatch passengers.

The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development, during the meeting with the governor of East Azerbaijan, added that in a phone call between the governor and the Minister of Roads and Urban Development on the sidelines of the visit, it was agreed to accelerate field inspections, damage assessments, and the reconstruction of damaged transportation infrastructure in the province—especially Tabriz Airport—as soon as possible.
