Iran Shoots Down Another Israeli Warplane Amid Rising Tensions

According to Saed News, citing Tasnim News Agency, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that a warplane belonging to the Israeli military was successfully targeted and destroyed over East Azerbaijan Province in northwestern Iran. The strike was attributed to Iran’s integrated air defence network, which intercepted the aircraft during what Tehran described as a new act of aggression.

The IRGC’s Ashura unit confirmed the incident, stating that the Israeli aircraft was engaged after carrying out strikes on three sites near the city of Tabriz. The attack prompted an immediate response from Iranian forces, who deployed surface-to-air missile systems to confront the intruding jet.

Residents of Tabriz reported loud explosions early Monday morning. Iranian officials later clarified that the noises were caused by the defensive counter-strike against incoming hostile aircraft.

The alleged downing marks the second Israeli jet claimed to have been neutralised by Iran in recent days and underscores the sharp deterioration in regional stability. It also highlights the increasing risk of a broader armed conflict as both nations engage in tit-for-tat military actions with growing intensity.
