SAEDNEWS: In a defiant statement amid escalating regional tensions, senior Iranian official Mohammad-Javad Larijani declared that Tehran’s nuclear file is “officially closed” and that no further negotiations will be entertained—under any circumstances.

Iran Closes Nuclear File: No Further Negotiations, Says Senior Official

According to Saed News, Mohammad-Javad Larijani, a prominent Iranian political figure and adviser to senior state institutions, issued an unequivocal statement on Sunday regarding the country's nuclear programme: “The nuclear dossier is closed. We will not engage in any negotiations.”

Speaking in response to heightened international scrutiny and recent Western pressure, Larijani insisted that Iran’s domestic nuclear policies are non-negotiable, asserting that no individual or body has the authority to open dialogue with foreign actors regarding Iran’s internal affairs.

“Our nuclear policies are a sovereign matter,” he said. “No one is entitled to negotiate on them—not now, not in the future. Those days are over.”

Larijani also took direct aim at the United Nations, criticising what he described as its double standards and selective enforcement of international commitments. “The UN must be held accountable for its inaction and complicity,” he added, urging the organisation to take serious measures against entities and states that violate international treaties while expecting others to comply unilaterally.

His comments come at a time when Iran’s nuclear infrastructure has been the target of foreign military strikes, and the possibility of re-engagement with Western powers appears increasingly remote. Iranian officials have argued that years of diplomatic engagement have yielded little beyond further restrictions and hostility, particularly from the United States and Israel.

As tensions mount across the region, Larijani’s remarks signal a firm closing of the diplomatic chapter—a message clearly intended for both domestic and international audiences: Iran will chart its own course, negotiation is no longer on the table.
