SAEDNEWS: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a firm phone call with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, underscored that while the Islamic Republic did not initiate the conflict with Israel, it will deliver a decisive response if aggression continues.

Pezeshkian to Sisi: "Iran Didn't Start This War, But Our Response Will Be Crushing"

According to Saed News, President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke with his Egyptian counterpart, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, on Saturday evening, expressing gratitude for Cairo’s firm and brotherly stance in condemning Israel’s aggression against Iran. Pezeshkian reiterated that Tehran has always sought regional cooperation and dialogue, particularly with neighboring and Muslim countries, and remains committed to peace.

The Iranian president pointed out that the Zionist regime's attack occurred in the midst of diplomatic talks with the United States:

“We were actively pursuing dialogue when Tel Aviv crossed the line and attacked our soil. Iran did not start this war—and has no desire to prolong it—but any further aggression will be met with firm retaliation.”

He also warned that Israel is deliberately trying to drag the U.S. deeper into the conflict while simultaneously attempting to isolate Iran from its regional allies:

“I assure you and all our regional brothers that these provocations will not divide us. Iran is fully aware that the Zionist regime’s aggression is greenlit by Washington.”

Addressing the question of Iran’s nuclear activities, Pezeshkian reaffirmed that the country remains committed to international frameworks and has no intention of pursuing non-peaceful nuclear capabilities. He emphasized:

“Development without peace is impossible. Our objective is a prosperous region—not one engulfed in constant conflict, which Israel repeatedly incites.”

In response, President el-Sisi condemned the Israeli airstrikes unequivocally and stressed Egypt’s ongoing diplomatic efforts, including discussions with the U.S., to de-escalate the situation and stop the war.
El-Sisi reiterated that the Iranian nuclear issue must be resolved diplomatically, and warned that military action will only exacerbate the crisis.

President Pezeshkian closed the call by praising Egypt’s stance on Gaza and the rights of Palestinians:

“The world must finally acknowledge the Palestinian people’s right to an independent state. This is a just cause, and silence is no longer an option.”

He also reminded that Western powers had falsely believed Iran would collapse within days of the Zionist assault:

“Their illusion of a swift collapse was shattered. The Islamic Republic stands tall—and will not bend under foreign pressure.”
