New tweet from Abbas Araghchi:"We remain committed to diplomacy."
According to Saed News, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister, posted a message on his social media account on X, referring to the aggression of the Zionist regime against Iran’s territory and emphasizing Iran’s commitment to diplomatic principles.
He wrote:
Now, the whole world must know that:
Iran is solely defending itself. Even in the face of the most unjust aggression against our people, Iran has so far only taken reciprocal action against the Israeli regime and not against those who aid and encourage it.
Just as Netanyahu started this war to destroy diplomacy, the world must be very vigilant about the increasing efforts of the weakened Israeli regime to force others to save it and to spread the flames of this war to the region and beyond.
Iran has proven in practice what it has always openly committed to: we have never sought nuclear weapons and never will. If it were otherwise, what better excuse than the current aggression by the only regime armed with nuclear weapons in the region could we have had to develop these inhumane weapons?
Iran will proudly and bravely continue to exercise its right to self-defense, making the aggressor regret its great mistake and forcing it to pay the price.
