Saed News: Stay with us for the details of this heartbreaking news.
According to the Accidents Desk of Saed News, after a long journey, a group of friends arrived at their desired recreational spot and began setting up tents. In the summer heat, 36-year-old Arash decided to create an exciting and pleasant experience with his twin son and daughter on a paddleboard. However, what seemed like a joyful day turned into a tragic, irreversible incident.
A Fun Day Turned Into a Tragedy
Kajal Masrouri, one of the group members, stated, “We came as a group to enjoy a beautiful area and never imagined such an ending.” With a trembling voice, she added, “After resting, Arash, who was a capable swimmer, prepared his paddleboard and entered the water with his children—but he didn’t use a safety rope for this activity.”
Kajal continued: “Arash’s 12-year-old son slipped and fell into the water. Arash immediately jumped in to help, pulled him out, and tried to swim back to shore. Meanwhile, my husband and his brother, Javad, also entered the water to assist, but Arash, whose strength was depleted, went under. Javad, in his attempt to save Arash, met the same fate. We could only watch helplessly from the shore, horrified, unable to do anything.”
Rescue Team Deployment
Right after the incident, the fire department was alerted and rescue teams were dispatched. Farhad Olyaee, head of the diving team at Sanandaj Fire Department, stated: “At 4:00 PM, we received a report of two men drowning in the Qeshlaq Dam lake, and the rescue and search operation began immediately. Due to the depth of over 20 meters, the location was extremely challenging, and our team focused all their efforts there.”
End of Operation and Recovery of Bodies
Farhad Olyaee reported: “The operation continued until 7:30 PM, and we managed to recover Javad’s body that same day. However, due to darkness, it was impossible to continue since fresh water beyond 8 meters is completely dark. The next morning, the operation resumed at first light, and around 4:00 PM, we retrieved Arash’s body from a depth of 23 meters.”
Safety Warning Issued
The head of the diving team emphasized the importance of caution in such environments: “This tragedy occurred due to carelessness and a lack of awareness of the area’s conditions. We urge everyone to be more vigilant when near dams and lakes and to avoid entering the water recklessly to prevent such heartbreaking incidents from happening again.”
