SAEDNEWS: Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has awarded the outgoing Iranian Ambassador a medal of friendship.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan welcomed outgoing Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, marking the conclusion of his diplomatic mission.
Minister Mirzoyan noted that despite the complex period of Ambassador Sobhani’s tenure, Armenia and Iran not only navigated challenges but also achieved tangible progress in their bilateral relations.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ongoing and future initiatives aimed at deepening the Armenia–Iran strategic partnership, spanning key areas such as infrastructure and energy projects.
The discussion highlighted that the cooperation between Armenia and Iran is deeply rooted in the friendship of their peoples, shared understanding on major regional issues, and steadfast respect for principles vital to regional peace.
In recognition of Ambassador Sobhani’s significant contributions to strengthening Armenian–Iranian relations, Minister Mirzoyan presented him with the Friendship Medal, awarded under the decree of the Armenian President, and wished him success in his future endeavors.
