SAEDNEWS: Young Woman Reports Man Who Claimed to Help Her but Ended Up Threatening Her
A young woman recently approached police at the Shirazi Police Station in Mashhad, recounting a harrowing experience of deception and theft. She explained that she had divorced her husband about two years ago due to irreconcilable differences and had been living alone. Struggling to find stable employment to cover her living expenses, she decided to move to Mashhad in search of a better life.
After leaving her personal belongings at the city’s passenger terminal storage, she ventured into the city center to find accommodation, where she soon met a man identified only as “M.” The man appeared helpful, suggesting he would assist her by retrieving her belongings from the terminal and placing them in a religious center’s storage to avoid payment. He then proposed a temporary marriage, promising a fresh start in Mashhad. Trusting his seemingly caring demeanor, she handed over her possessions.
“M” then convinced her to go to a guesthouse, claiming that visiting his home would arouse suspicion from his parents and prevent their marriage. Once there, under the guise of taking commemorative photos to mark a new chapter in their lives, he secretly recorded private photos and videos of her before leaving the guesthouse.
Hours later, the woman received a banking alert showing that 9 million tomans had been withdrawn from her account. Panicked, she checked her handbag and realized her bank card and PIN had been stolen. When she tried to retrieve her belongings from storage, she discovered that “M” had placed them in his own name and she had no way to contact him. To make matters worse, she received threatening messages warning that her private images and videos would be shared online if she reported the crime.
Following her report, the Mashhad Shirazi Police have launched an intensive investigation, with judicial authorities issuing strict orders for the immediate identification and arrest of the deceitful suspect.
