SAEDNEWS: A Deputy ICT official announced that Iran's artificial intelligence operator will soon be approved at the first Regulatory Commission meeting, marking a key step in organizing and regulating AI activities nationwide.
Iran is on the brink of launching its national artificial intelligence operator, a move expected to bring greater transparency and organization to the country’s AI sector.
Ehsan Chitsaz, Deputy Minister for ICT Policy, Development Planning, and Digital Economy, told Mehr News Agency that the framework for the operator has been finalized and is awaiting approval from the Regulatory Commission. “This represents a major step toward transparency and organization of activities in the AI sector and demonstrates the strong resolve of the Ministry of ICT to expand digital infrastructure and shape a new future for the national economy,” Chitsaz explained.
He added that the AI operator is expected to be approved in the first session of the Regulatory Commission, after which its license will be issued. The operator will be fully regulated, and further details regarding its operations will be announced shortly.
The launch of a national AI operator marks a significant milestone in Iran’s efforts to strengthen its digital economy, enhance innovation, and establish a structured, well-regulated framework for artificial intelligence development.
