SAEDNEWS: Raouf Sheibani, the foreign minister’s special aide on West Asia affairs, said American military installations in the region have failed to provide security for host countries.
A senior Iranian diplomat says the Israeli airstrike on Doha, Qatar, shows that hosting American military bases does not provide security for regional countries.
The Israeli regime launched a series of airstrikes on Doha on Tuesday to target the headquarters of Hamas, where leaders of the Palestinian resistance group had gathered to review a US proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani, the foreign minister’s special envoy on West Asia affairs, responded to the attack by saying that American military installations in the region have failed to provide security for host countries.
“…US bases not only fail to ensure safety but have emboldened Israel to carry out such assaults under the protective umbrella of American military hardware,” he posted on X on Wednesday.
Hamas confirmed that no senior leader of the movement was harmed in the targeted strike.
