SAEDNEWS: The Israeli regime has reduced more than 200 residential apartments to rubble in Gaza City within just 72 hours, Gaza’s Civil Defense said.
The towers contained 209 apartment units, each sheltering at least 20 people during the emergency, meaning over 4,100 Palestinians – many of them children – were thrown into the streets with nothing.
In addition, more than 350 tents sheltering displaced families were destroyed.
The Civil Defence said several thousand people are now “living in the open, deprived of the most basic necessities of life, struggling against death, hunger, and unbearable heat in a catastrophic scene beyond description.”
“The world watches in silence, while Gaza City cries out for rescue before it’s too late. An urgent appeal to all humanitarian organizations and to the world: Act now to save the lives of thousands of innocent civilians,” the statement read.
“The primary goal of the occupation is displacement… but there’s no place left, not in the south, nor the north, nothing,” said Bajees al-Khalidi, a displaced resident. “We’ve become completely trapped. They either want to push us out of the Gaza Strip or move us to another place, but there’s nowhere left.”
Another displaced Palestinian and cancer patient, Umm Ghassan, described the terror: “We received a message to evacuate Israa Tower. It’s located near a cancer treatment facility. At that moment, the fear among the women and children was immense. We call on the international community – it’s enough. Nothing remains. Our homes have been destroyed.”
As many as 25 people are still missing in the Shati area of western Gaza City, with some feared alive under the rubble. The organization condemned the deliberate targeting of homes as a “crime.”
Israel is intensifying both its ground assault and aerial strikes.
The latest evacuation orders target three high-rise residential towers in Sheikh Radwan, forcing families into the streets with little warning.
Around midnight, Israeli forces bombed a packed residential block in the Shati refugee camp, continuing what Palestinians describe as a campaign to push them out of Gaza.
This morning, the Israeli military dropped leaflets over Gaza City demanding more residents flee, even as hundreds of thousands remain trapped in the western part of the city.
Families are fleeing toward al-Mawasi, an area Israel designates as a so-called “humanitarian zone,” though bombings continue nearby.
Meanwhile, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported 83 bodies and 223 wounded Palestinians brought to hospitals in the past 24 hours.
The overall toll since the start of Israel’s war stands at 64,605 killed and 163,319 wounded.
That includes 14 killed and 37 wounded aid seekers in the past day. In total, 2,444 aid seekers have been killed and 17,831 injured.
Since breaking the ceasefire on March 18, Israel has killed at least 12,059 Palestinians and wounded 51,278 more.
