SAEDNEWS: The Iranian minister says President Pezeshkian's vision to have comprehensive strategic ties between Iran and Armenia can be realized by greater cooperation between cultural ministries and the participation of civil society.
Iran and Armenia are deepening their cultural and artistic cooperation, highlighting how shared heritage can foster stronger international relations. Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Salehi, made the remarks on Tuesday during a meeting with Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan, who is visiting Iran with an official delegation.
Salehi pointed to the recent celebration of the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra’s 100th anniversary, marked by a special performance at the World Heritage Site of Persepolis. He described the event as a symbol of the long-standing historical ties between the two nations.
“The Persepolis celebration has opened doors for Armenia to participate more actively in Iranian cinema programs,” Salehi said, adding, “We are also ready to attend Armenian film festivals and other cinematic events, such as film weeks.”
He further emphasized ongoing high-level exchanges, including the recent visit of President Masoud Pezeshkian to Yerevan, during which a dozen cooperation documents were signed. Salehi noted that realizing a vision of comprehensive strategic ties between Iran and Armenia relies on stronger cooperation between cultural ministries and active civil society engagement.
Highlighting the Ministry’s cultural initiatives, Salehi mentioned that books and literature, including translations between Persian and Armenian, offer significant opportunities for collaboration.
Minister Andreasyan praised Iran’s cultural initiatives, saying she “fell in love with Persepolis and its monuments” and commended the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance for organizing the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra’s performance in Fars province. She affirmed that this cooperation will continue, and she looks forward to witnessing Iranian cultural performances in Armenia.
This growing cultural dialogue demonstrates how art, music, and literature are not just forms of expression but also bridges connecting nations and fostering lasting friendship.
