High-Stakes Diplomacy: FM Meets IAEA Chief and President el-Sisi in Tunisia

According to Saednews, Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told IRNA on Monday that Iran’s Foreign Minister’s upcoming visits fall within the framework of continuous dialogue with regional and Islamic countries, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and exchanging views on regional and international developments.

During his stop in Cairo, the Foreign Minister is scheduled to meet with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi to finalize discussions on a new cooperation framework between Iran and the agency. According to Baghaei, the framework has been drafted over three rounds of technical talks and is now in its final stage.

The framework is designed to address Iran’s safeguards commitments while considering field realities, including what Baghaei described as illegal attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran’s nuclear facilities, as well as laws passed by Parliament and guidance from the Supreme National Security Council.

The visit will also include a new round of political talks with Egyptian officials, highlighted by a meeting with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, to review bilateral relations and regional developments.

These high-level meetings signal Tehran’s efforts to advance nuclear cooperation while navigating complex regional dynamics, with potential implications for international diplomacy in the Middle East.
