Who Won Powerball? Two Tickets Hit $1.787B JACKPOT!

The big winners and the winning numbers

Saturday night’s Powerball drawing produced two jackpot winners: one ticket sold in Missouri and one sold in Texas matched all six numbers to split the estimated $1.787 billion jackpot. The winning combination for the Sept. 6 drawing was 11, 23, 44, 61, 62 with Powerball 17. The Power Play multiplier was 2X.

In addition to the two jackpot tickets, the drawing produced dozens of lower-tier winners, and a total of 22 new millionaires across 14 states (California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Illinois, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Texas and West Virginia).

Double Play and other notable results

Players who added the Double Play option had a second chance at a large prize. The Double Play numbers for Sept. 6 were 21, 29, 34, 41, 65 with Powerball 17. No Double Play ticket matched all six numbers to win the $10 million Double Play top prize. Several tickets nationwide matched five numbers (without the Powerball) to claim $1 million or $2 million prizes depending on Power Play choices.

Where the big tickets were sold

The official state lottery authorities in Missouri and Texas confirmed single jackpot tickets were sold in each state. (State lottery offices typically withhold retailer details until winners come forward to claim prizes; check your local lottery website for updates.) Several other states also sold $1 million and $2 million tickets in the drawing.

What winners should do now

If you hold a ticket matching the full jackpot, act fast but calmly: sign the back of your ticket, keep it secure, and contact the state lottery office to start the claims process. Seek trusted legal and financial advice immediately — large jackpots involve tax planning, payout election choices and confidentiality decisions. The winning ticket holders will choose between an annuity and a cash option; the next scheduled Powerball jackpot (Monday, Sept. 8) resets to an estimated $20 million with a $9.2 million cash option.

how big is this win?

The Sept. 6 jackpot ranks among the biggest in Powerball history. Powerball’s all-time top jackpots include the $2.04 billion draw on Nov. 7, 2022; the $1.787 billion prize from Sept. 6, 2025 now sits near the top of the list. So far in 2025 Powerball winners also took home jackpots of $328.5 million (Jan. 18), $526.5 million (March 29) and several others earlier in the year.

When’s the next drawing?

Powerball drawings occur three times weekly — Monday, Wednesday and Saturday — at about 10:59 p.m. ET. If you didn’t win the Sept. 6 jackpot, the next drawing is Monday, Sept. 8 with the advertised jackpot reset to $20 million.
