SAEDNEWS: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister warns that Israel failed in its recent aggression against Iran, but the risk of a future Iran-Israel war remains high, while Tehran continues to strengthen regional ties.

Danger Looms: War Between Iran and Israel Is Highly Likely

According to Saed News; Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Saeed Khatibzadeh, stated in a televised interview during his visit to Baghdad that the Israeli regime has failed to achieve its objectives in its recent military actions against Iran.

Strong Bilateral Ties with Iraq

Khatibzadeh highlighted the close relationship between Tehran and Baghdad. “We have conducted multiple meetings with Iraqi officials on various issues, including energy, regional stability, and political cooperation. Relations between Iran and Iraq are currently at their best,” he said. He added that several significant agreements were signed during Dr. Poursaiedan’s recent visit to Iraq, further strengthening the partnership.

Israel’s Aggression and Its Consequences

The Iranian diplomat underscored that for more than two years, Israel has repeatedly violated international law and diplomatic norms. “The assassination of Iranian commanders was a criminal act, based entirely on Israel’s policy of targeted killings,” Khatibzadeh stated. He emphasized that Iran responded strongly to Israel’s provocations.

Khatibzadeh noted that Israel’s media and lobbying efforts have attempted to distort the truth, but despite these pressures, Iran regained control of the situation hours after initial strikes. “In the first days of the conflict, Iran had the capability to strike any target inside the occupied territories,” he added.

War Risks Remain High

The Deputy Foreign Minister warned that the risk of war between Iran and Israel remains very high. “We are striving to prevent another regional war, but the possibility of confrontation cannot be ignored,” Khatibzadeh said. He also noted that the recent aggression impacted the nuclear issue, highlighting that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was unable to fully safeguard Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Looking Ahead

Despite the tension, Iran continues to engage diplomatically with regional partners. Khatibzadeh stressed that strengthening ties with Iraq and other neighbors remains a priority, as Iran seeks to maintain stability in the region while deterring future threats.

“The recent conflict demonstrated that Israel could not achieve its goals,” he concluded, “and Iran’s strategic position has been reinforced, though vigilance remains essential.”
