SAEDNEWS: Iranian Ambassador to Islamabad Reza Amiri Moghadam said that President Masoud Pezeshkian's unity slogan has fostered closer cooperation and strategic alignment between Iran and Pakistan.
Iranian Ambassador to Islamabad Reza Amiri Moghadam has highlighted the significant increase in high-level exchanges between Iran and Pakistan since the inauguration of President Masoud Pezeshkian, emphasizing that the unity slogan of the president has created an environment conducive to closer cooperation and strategic alignment between the two nations.
Amiri Moghadam said in an exclusive interview with IRNA on Tuesday that the participation of a high-ranking Pakistani delegation at President Pezeshkian's inauguration last year marked a positive signal for ongoing friendly relations and regional cooperation.
He pointed out that high-level exchanges have accelerated across key areas, including politics, economics, military, defense, and cultural ties.
The ambassador also referenced a pivotal visit by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Islamabad, which underscored Pakistan's strong support for Iran during the recent war imposed by the Israeli regime.
Furthermore, Amiri Moghadam mentioned that Pakistan's “Neighborhood First Policy” aligns with Iran's diplomatic efforts to maintain peace in the region.
He expressed satisfaction with the recent high-level visit of President Pezeshkian to Pakistan, which aimed to expedite various cooperative initiatives.
Looking ahead, the ambassador stressed the importance of enhancing regional interactions and trade, particularly through safe and cost-effective transit routes.
He announced the upcoming 22nd Joint Economic Commission in Tehran, which aims to bolster trade and cooperation between the two countries.
He also highlighted several significant developments in Tehran-Islamabad relations over the past year, including Iran's participation in Pakistan’s international maritime exercise, the presence of Iran’s Ministry of Defense at the International Defense Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) in Karachi, the finalization of the free trade agreement, and the establishment of new direct flight routes between the two countries.
