Saed News: Perhaps the lions weren't brave enough to cross the crocodile-infested waters and hunt the buffalo.
According to the news and analysis website Saad News, a lone buffalo outpaces the lions and uses the crocodile-infested river to escape the full attack of the lion pride.
Anthony Britz, who captured this incredible scene in Kruger National Park, says that the buffalo was alone and had come to the river to drink. The lions began to chase him, but luckily for the buffalo, he saw them and fought back. The lions were young and completely inexperienced, so they kept their distance.
Young lions learn confidence in hunting by observing and imitating the seasoned hunters in their pride. They acquire vital skills such as silent stalking through tall grass, strategic group ambushes, and precise timing. All these abilities allow lions to develop the ability to analyze and adapt to the behavior of various prey.
The buffalo ran toward the river in hopes of escaping the lions. At this point, the lions seemed confused and unsure of what to do. The buffalo realized that if he stayed in the crocodile-infested area, he wouldn't survive, so he headed toward the river.
The lions accepted their defeat and began drinking water. You could almost see the smug expression on the old buffalo's face. Perhaps the lions were not brave enough to cross the crocodile-infested water and hunt the buffalo.
