SAEDNEWS: According to superstition or pseudoscience, everyone has a twin that lives alongside them simultaneously.
According to Saed News’ Social Affairs Service, ancient beliefs hold that a hamzad—a spiritual companion—has always existed alongside humans, growing in tandem with the individual. Ancient Egyptians believed that all living beings possess a hamzad, which they called “Ka.” They also believed that after death, a person’s hamzad does not perish.
When a human is born, a jinn from the hamzad family is believed to be born alongside them. This jinn, called the hamzad, differs from other jinn. Under normal circumstances, it neither interferes with humans nor causes problems.

It is called a hamzad because it is born simultaneously with the person. Some believe the name comes from its ability to resemble the human. The hamzad lives beside the person, and ancestral hamzads may also exist nearby, possibly with their own offspring.
This type of jinn can only live alongside humans. It is invisible and imperceptible under normal circumstances and does not interfere unless provoked. Through specific prayers designed to repel a strong evil hamzad, it can be kept away, though it may linger nearby, waiting for a chance to return.
Cultural practices such as saying “Bismillah” (In the name of God) when pouring boiling water or water onto fire are linked to the belief in hamzads. Since these spiritual companions are invisible, accidental harm may occur, prompting them to retaliate. Saying “Bismillah” is believed to protect both humans and hamzads.
Writing prayers to repel a strong evil hamzad requires significant spiritual skill. If the practitioner lacks sufficient power, the spell may fail, strengthening the hamzad’s influence. It is traditionally advised that the practitioner come from a family with a strong lineage in this practice, preferably from Sayyids, to increase the prayer’s effectiveness.

Islamic tradition records that God told Iblis: “I will not give a child to Adam except that I give you a likeness of it.” This implies that every human has a counterpart, sometimes referred to as a satanic hamzad.
By Element:
Fire hamzad
Air hamzad
Earth hamzad
Water hamzad
By Disposition:
Good hamzad: Channels virtue and blessings to its human counterpart.
Evil hamzad: Draws negativity and misfortune toward its human counterpart.
Neutral hamzad: Mirrors the human’s behavior without affecting their life.
The interference of jinn can manifest in several ways:
Disturbing sleep (“aqd al-nawm”).
Reducing marital intimacy.
Affecting romantic attraction.
Sabotaging relationships or courtships out of jealousy.
Causing obstacles in work or daily life.
Reducing sustenance or income.
Triggering hidden illnesses undetectable by doctors.
Weakening personal willpower, preventing task completion.
Some of these issues may also result from magical practices rather than a hamzad, since jinn are believed to be involved in sorcery.
Human actions can provoke jinn. For example, a woman who unknowingly pours water in a location inhabited by jinn without saying God’s name may cause harm to them, leading to retaliation, such as infertility. In such cases, traditional protective rituals like cheleh bori are recommended.

The word qarin appears in the Quran with several meanings, such as companion, friend, or confidant. Not every mention of qarin refers to a hamzad. Only in Surah Az-Zukhruf and Surah Qaf does the concept align with the idea of a spiritual counterpart.
Surah Az-Zukhruf (43:36-37):
“Whoever turns away from the remembrance of the Most Merciful, We appoint a devil as his companion. They block them from the path, while they think they are rightly guided.”
Surah Qaf (50:21-27):
“Each soul will come with a driver and a witness. You were unaware of this, but We have removed the covering from your eyes; today, your vision is sharp. His companion (an angel) says: ‘This is my record of his deeds.’ Cast into Hell every obstinate disbeliever… His companion (a devil) says: ‘My Lord, I did not lead him astray; he was far in error himself.’”
On the Day of Judgment, every human is accompanied by two entities: an angelic companion presenting the record of deeds and a devilish companion who may try to place blame on the human.
