According to the Saed News analytical news base, quoting Young Journalists Club, a man who was buried alive after losing consciousness at a local festival in Bolivia saved himself by breaking open his coffin.

According to the Daily Mail report, 30-year-old Víctor Hugo Mika Álvarez lost consciousness after consuming alcohol at the local festival called "Offering to Mother Earth." He found himself inside a coffin about 50 miles away from the festival site. This incident happened on the night of August 5, after Víctor woke up inside the coffin.

When Víctor realized he was trapped inside the coffin, he started trying to break it open and eventually succeeded in escaping. Participants of the festival, held in El Alto, Bolivia, had placed Víctor inside the coffin and abandoned him 50 miles away from the festival location.

At the "Mother Earth" festival, participants show gratitude to the earth goddess and fertility by offering gifts called "sulo" to the planet. Local indigenous people believe that in August, Mother Earth opens her mouth to receive gifts, so they offer various presents including live animals, sheep fetuses, cacao leaves, and sweets.

The 30-year-old told a local Bolivian news agency: “Last night I was at this ceremony. I don’t remember much. I only recall being in bed. I woke up at night to urinate but realized I couldn’t move. With great effort, I managed to break the glass of the coffin and got myself out.”

Víctor believes this was done by the festival participants, who buried him alive as a “living sulo” sacrifice for Mother Earth.
