SAEDNEWS: The US Democratic presidential candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris is one percentage point ahead of her electoral rival, Republican candidate and ex-president Donald Trump, according to an opinion poll.
According to SAEDNEWS, In a recent opinion poll conducted by The Wall Street Journal, Democratic presidential candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris is shown to be one percentage point ahead of her main rival, former President Donald Trump.
The survey revealed that 48% of respondents support Harris, while 47% indicated they would vote for Trump. The poll was conducted from August 24 to August 28 and included 1,500 participants across the United States, with a margin of error of 2.5 percentage points.
The upcoming US presidential election is scheduled for November 5. Although incumbent President Joe Biden was initially expected to represent the Democratic Party, increasing calls for him to step aside arose after what many viewed as a disappointing performance in his June debate against Trump.
On July 21, Biden made the decision to withdraw from the race and backed Harris as the nominee for the presidency. She received the formal nomination at the Democratic National Convention held in Chicago, Illinois.
