SAEDNEWS: Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Friday that Western governments are discussing plans to strengthen air defense support for Ukraine.
According to SAEDNEWS, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Friday that Western countries are planning to enhance air defense support for Ukraine. This statement comes after Tusk met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Warsaw.
During their meeting, Tusk emphasized the importance of equipping Ukraine well during its ongoing war. He noted that a strong Ukrainian air defense not only protects Ukraine but also helps secure Poland's airspace.
“The solidarity of the West on this issue is increasingly impressive,” Tusk said, adding that he has ongoing discussions with leaders from around the world. He expressed optimism about increased support for Ukraine from Western allies.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, who also met with Blinken, shared his views on the matter. He suggested that Ukraine should be allowed to use Western-supplied missiles to target deeper into Russia. Sikorski urged for continued delivery of advanced air defense systems to Ukraine and called for lifting restrictions on the use of long-range weapons.
Overall, the discussions indicate a growing commitment among Western nations to support Ukraine amidst its conflict.
