SAEDNEWS: Washington is trying to defame anyone who goes against its interests, Iran’s ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, has said.

Iran’s Ambassador Says US Sanctions Are Failing and Will Not Succeed

According to SAEDNEWS, Iranian Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, has stated that the United States is losing its "psychological war" against nations that oppose its interests. He made these remarks during an interview with RT, a day after the US announced new sanctions against the news channel.

Jalali pointed out that the US government often tries to damage the reputation of anyone who speaks out against it. According to him, the latest sanctions are part of a long-standing strategy of accusation and intimidation that the US has used for years.

“The Americans have two main tactics: one is psychological warfare, where they make accusations against media, countries, and organizations that do not support their agenda,” Jalali explained. “The second tactic is imposing sanctions. We Iranians have dealt with these methods for 45 years and understand that these accusations are often based on lies.”

The US has enforced sanctions on Iran since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, affecting around 5,000 Iranian individuals and organizations. These sanctions, surpassed only by those on Russia, have intensified recently after the US and some European countries accused Iran of supplying ballistic missiles to Russia for the Ukraine conflict, something Iran denies.

Jalali also criticized the US for blaming Russian media for interfering in the upcoming 2024 US presidential election. He stated, “The role of the media is to report facts, not interfere. It seems ridiculous to say a media outlet influenced an election.”

He concluded by saying that the tactics used by the US to undermine its critics are well known and that they will ultimately fail. “People are aware of these American tricks, and they will not be successful,” Jalali asserted.
