SAEDNEWS: Zeinab Norouzi claimed a gold medal in the 2024 Asian Rowing Championships on Saturday.
According to SAEDNEWS, Iranian rowers had a successful day at the 2024 Asian Rowing Championships, bringing home several medals.
Zeinab Norouzi stood out by winning a gold medal in the lightweight single sculls on Saturday. She finished the race with a time of 08:02.721. Uzbekistan’s Malika Tagmatova took home the silver medal, finishing at 08:17.538, while Hong Kong’s Leung Wing Wun secured the bronze with a time of 08:21.397.
In the women’s single sculls, Fatemeh Mojallal from Iran earned a silver medal with a time of 07:50.701. The gold medal went to China’s Wenxian Zhang, who finished with a time of 07:47.782. Hong Kong’s Wing Yan Winne Hung won the bronze with 07:56.583.
Additionally, the Iranian team consisting of Kimia Zareei, Fatemeh Mojallal, Mahsa Javar, and Zeinab Norouzi won a silver medal in the women’s quadruple sculls. They completed the race in 06:56.550, finishing just behind China with a time of 06:47.285, and ahead of Vietnam, which finished in 07:07.390.
The championships are taking place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from October 10 to 14.
