 Baguette Pizza

Ingredients for Baguette Pizza:

  • 1 baguette

  • 2 bell peppers

  • 1 medium onion

  • 450 grams ground beef

  • 2-3 cups grated mozzarella and cheddar cheese

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 3 medium tomatoes

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

  • 1 tablespoon chopped basil

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions for Baguette Pizza:

  1. Prepare the Pizza Sauce: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Finely chop or grate the tomatoes (you can also remove the skins). Add the chopped tomatoes to the hot oil and sauté for 5-6 minutes until the water evaporates. Add the tomato paste and sauté for another 2-3 minutes. Add garlic powder, salt, pepper, and chopped basil to the sauce. If the sauce becomes too thick, add one or two tablespoons of water. Remove the sauce from heat and set it aside.

  2. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with aluminum foil. Cut the baguette lengthwise in half and place the halves on the prepared tray.

  3. Prepare the Toppings: Dice the onion and bell peppers. In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté the chopped onion for 2 minutes. Add the diced bell peppers and continue sautéing until the onion and peppers start to soften (about 3 minutes). Add the ground beef with some salt and pepper and cook until the beef turns brown. Pour the pizza sauce over the beef mixture and let it heat up again with the meat and vegetables.

  4. Assemble the Pizza: Spread the mixture over the baguette halves. Sprinkle grated cheese on top as desired. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes until the cheese melts. Let the baguette pizza cool slightly, then cut it into slices.

Additional Tips for Baguette Pizza:

  • The cooking and preparation time is approximately 30 minutes.

  • Baguette pizza can be served for lunch, as a snack, or for dinner.
