SAEDNEWS: The Foreign Ministry spokesperson says the Islamic Republic supports any process that can lead to a halt to the ongoing Israeli crimes and reduce the suffering of the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has vehemently rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent claims of Iran's interference in the Gaza ceasefire talks.
The Islamic Republic, in unison with all countries, strongly condemns the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza and supports any process that can halt the ongoing crimes against the oppressed Palestinians and reduce their suffering, Baqaei told IRNA late on Monday.
The reaction followed Trump’s accusation that Iran interfered in the ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas. “I think they got involved in this negotiation, telling Hamas and giving Hamas signals and orders. And that’s not good,” he claimed.
In response, Bagaei noted that negotiators of the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, themselves are fully capable of discerning and pursuing the best interests of the oppressed people of Gaza, and do not need third parties to intervene in the negotiation.
The spokesperson said the claim of Iran's interference was absolutely baseless, calling it an evasion of responsibility and accountability on part of the U.S. from its complicity in the crimes committed by the Israeli regime against the Palestinian people, including the killing of 60,000 innocent people, including women and children in Gaza.
Referring to the intensification of the Israeli siege of Gaza, the prevention of humanitarian aid into the Strip, and the killing of hungry and thirsty civilians, Baqaei advised American officials to stop sending deadly weapons to the occupying regime, force it to stop the genocide, and allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza through internationally recognized mechanisms in order to establish a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and save innocent lives there.
