China Criticizes US-Japan Military Cooperation as a 'Threat' to Regional Stability

According to SAEDNEWS, In a recent press conference, a spokesperson for the Chinese military has called on the United States and Japan to move away from what he described as a "Cold War mentality." He voiced concerns regarding the escalating military cooperation between these two nations, warning that such actions pose a nuclear threat and will only worsen regional tensions.

This statement follows a tripartite agreement made by US President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol. Their joint declaration, issued on Sunday, highlights a commitment to deepen military relations, enhance economic cooperation, and establish a unified front against China's increasing influence in the region, as well as addressing the threats posed by North Korea.

In light of these developments, the United States, Japan, and South Korea have already engaged in a series of joint military exercises. The growing military presence of China, coupled with North Korea’s advancements in military capabilities, has raised alarms in Seoul, Washington, and Tokyo.

Further heightening these concerns is the recent signing of a joint defense agreement between Moscow and Pyongyang, which has catalyzed increased cooperation among the US, Japan, and South Korea.
