SAEDNEWS: Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani has said that the United States has proven its complicity in the Israeli regime's crimes in the Gaza Strip, adding that the US cannot be an impartial mediator in the peace talks.
According to SAEDNEWS, In a recent telephone conversation, top diplomats from Egypt and Iran engaged in discussions regarding the evolving situation in the region, as reported by a local Egyptian website citing the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ahmed Abu Zeid, the spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry, highlighted that the call reflects Egypt's ongoing commitment to mitigating tensions in the area. He remarked on Cairo’s dedication to maintaining continuous communication with influential regional and international parties to foster a reduction in heightened tensions.
The conversation between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian Bagheri and Egyptian diplomat Badr Abdelatty also focused on Egypt's efforts to establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The Egyptian official reiterated, “Egypt will not spare any efforts to end the unprecedented human suffering of the Palestinian nation,” stressing that the international community increasingly recognizes the necessity of a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange agreement.
Bagheri further noted the importance of preventing the spread of conflict to other parts of the region, informing his Iranian counterpart about Egypt's engagements with various nations to de-escalate regional tensions.
In response, Bagheri Kani expressed gratitude to Cairo for its relentless efforts and commitment to ending the war in Gaza and achieving peace. He emphasized the need for continued communication between the two countries to pursue regional stability.
However, the dialogue also touched on the role of the United States in peace negotiations. Bagheri Kani asserted that “Washington cannot be an impartial mediator,” citing the U.S. support for Israel's actions as a reason for this stance. He stated, “By openly supporting the crime of the Zionists, the U.S. has proven that it is an accomplice in its crimes and cannot be an impartial mediator,” adding that the U.S. is creating obstacles to halt the violence.
The Iranian diplomat further declared that “Iran reserves its inherent and legitimate right to legitimately respond to the Zionist regime's crime in the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh,” underscoring the resilience of the Palestinian people against the Israeli regime’s actions.
