The governor fled to Kashan and paid part of his debt to the king; however, this behavior further agitated the sick king, and he ordered the arrest of the governor of Fars.
Fath Ali Shah passed away in Isfahan, and his body was transferred to Qom to be buried near the Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) shrine.
After his imprisonment, the king's agents went to Fars and surrounding areas to collect the remaining debts. Meanwhile, the health of Fath Ali Shah deteriorated, and about one or two days after this group left, the Qajar king passed away after about 37 years (or 39 years, according to some sources) of reign at the age of 62. His body was transferred from Isfahan to Qom and buried near the Hazrat Masoumeh shrine.

Fath Ali Shah's Tombstone The architecture of Fath Ali Shah's tomb, with its irregular octagonal dome, is one of the works of "Begum Safavi," which was repaired and decorated by the order of the Qajar king in 1245 AH. In 1280 AH, during the reign of Naser al-Din Shah, the mirror work was converted into plaster decorations. The tombstone's base is made of marble, and on a golden-embossed marble plaque, the history of the Qajar dynasty up to Fath Ali Shah's period is inscribed.
