According to the tourism service of Saed News, the Karen women, who live in villages in the Chiang Rai region of Thailand, are known as the women with the longest necks in the world due to the brass rings they wear around their necks. On average, a Karen woman wears 20 rings weighing 10 kilograms throughout her life. These heavy brass rings gradually alter the shape of the body by pressing the shoulders downward, eventually extending the neck up to three times longer than that of an average person.
