Saed News: Many studies have focused on driver drowsiness, but "eye fatigue" as an independent factor has received less attention.

Eye fatigue: An important factor in driving that is rarely addressed.

According to the social service of Saed News, studies show that constantly staring at car headlights, illuminated signs, and reflections on the road, especially during nighttime travel, reduces visual accuracy, slows reaction times, and even causes visual hallucinations.

Drivers whose eyes are dry and fatigued from long periods of driving, even if they don’t feel drowsy, may misjudge distances or fail to recognize sudden movements of other vehicles in time.

This factor is especially dangerous for drivers who wear glasses or have vision problems, and it can lead to accidents with unknown causes.

How to prevent this problem?

  • Take a break every 2 hours and either close your eyes or focus on distant points.

  • Use artificial tears to prevent dry eyes.

  • Adjust the vehicle’s interior lighting to reduce the contrast between the light inside and the outside environment.

  • When driving at night, avoid staring directly at headlights and maintain a balanced focus.

Eye fatigue is a hidden danger in driving that may have been overlooked until now. Have you ever experienced this?
