Ingredients for Spaghetti
Spaghetti: 400 grams
Ground beef: 200 grams
Onion: 1 large
Mushrooms: 100 grams
Potatoes: 2 large
Green peas: 100 grams
Bell pepper: 1
Tomato paste: 3 tablespoons
Salt and black pepper: to taste
Turmeric and oil: to taste
Instructions for Spaghetti
Step 1: Peel and wash the onions, then finely chop them on a kitchen board. Wash the bell pepper, remove the cap and seeds, and cut it into 1 cm squares. Set aside.
Step 2: Peel and wash the mushrooms, then slice them on a kitchen board. Heat a pan over medium heat and add 2 to 3 tablespoons of oil.
Step 3: Add the chopped onions to the pan and stir continuously until slightly softened. Add the pre-ground beef and mix well until the meat changes color completely.
Step 4: If desired, peel and wash the garlic, then finely grate it. Add turmeric, black pepper, chopped bell pepper, and garlic to the pan.
Step 5: Push the ingredients to the edges of the pan, add the tomato paste, and stir continuously for 1 minute until the raw smell disappears and the color changes.
Step 6: Reduce the heat, add the mushrooms, and mix well until the ingredients are fully coated with tomato paste.
Step 7: Increase the heat to medium and add 1 cup of water to the mixture. Cover the pan and let the meat cook and the sauce evaporate completely, about 15 to 30 minutes.
Step 8: Fill a pot with water up to 1/3 of its capacity and place it on high heat with the lid on until it boils. Depending on the pot size, peel and wash 1 or 2 potatoes, then slice them.
Step 9: Once the water is boiling, add salt and half a tablespoon of oil, then immediately add the spaghetti. Check the sauce. It should be thickened and cohesive. Remove the pan from heat and set aside.
Step 10: Follow the cooking instructions on the spaghetti package for the boiling time, typically 5 to 7 minutes. Test a piece of spaghetti by biting it, then drain the spaghetti.
Step 11: Pour oil into the pot and arrange the potato slices at the bottom. Add a layer of spaghetti, followed by a layer of meat sauce and a sprinkle of thyme (optional). Repeat layering until all ingredients are used.
Step 12: Cover the pot and place it on a rack. Let it steam for about 5 minutes over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat and cook for 45 minutes until fully cooked.
Step 13: Serve the cooked spaghetti on a plate and garnish with the golden potato slices.
