Place the beef fillet in a freezer bag and freeze for 2 hours to firm it up.

Slice the fillet very thinly. Grate the onion and extract its juice.

Marinate the beef slices in the onion juice, cover, and refrigerate for 2 hours.

After marinating, place the beef in a pan over low heat, cover, and let it cook in its juices.

Once the liquid evaporates, add olive oil and butter. Sauté the meat, season with salt and pepper, then remove from heat.

To prepare the sauce, peel and chop the tomatoes. Blend into a purée.

In a pot, melt butter and olive oil, then add the tomato purée and sauté. Add hot water, simmer until thick, season, and remove from heat.

Cube pita or Barbari bread. Toast in butter in a pan until golden. Set aside.

Sauté green peppers and tomato halves in butter.

For serving: Place toasted bread on a plate, pour some tomato sauce over it. Add beef slices on top.

Drizzle with melted butter, place sautéed pepper and tomato on the side. Optionally, serve with yogurt. Enjoy!
