Today, we’re sharing the recipe for Isfahan’s meatball abgoosht, which is one of the most delicious and tasty Iranian stews. You wouldn’t believe it if I told you that this was the tastiest abgoosht I’ve ever made. This version doesn’t contain legumes, yet it has an incredible flavor. It’s a quick dish, perfect for those in need of a fast meal. In Isfahan, it’s also known as "Abgoosht Gheymeh Rizeh" or "Abgoosht Sar-e-Gonjeshgi." In Iran, there are many variations of abgoosht, and each region makes it in their own delicious way. However, Isfahan’s meatball abgoosht has an amazing flavor with a different cooking method. I highly recommend making it, especially in this cold season, and enjoying this traditional and authentic Iranian dish.
Ingredients:
250 grams ground meat
1 tablespoon dried marjoram
4 tablespoons dried tarragon
2 potatoes
1 tablespoon turmeric
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons tomato paste
4 tomatoes
5 onions
3 tablespoons semi-crushed rice
Note: Mix one tablespoon of rice with the meat and add the other two tablespoons of rice to the stew. Also, make sure to use dried tarragon and dried marjoram.
