Ingredients for Crispy Cheesy Fried Potatoes
Mashed potatoes: 190 g
Butter: 2 tablespoons
Milk: ½ cup
Red meat: 3 slices
Cheddar cheese (grated): ¾ cup
Egg: 1
Shallots (finely chopped): 2 tablespoons
Vegetable oil: 4 cups
Breadcrumbs: 1.5 cups
Instructions
Mix the mashed potatoes with milk and butter, then heat until cooked. Remove from heat and let it cool.
Cook the meat over medium heat in its own fat until fried, then place on a clean paper towel, let drain, and chop.
In a large bowl, combine the cooked potatoes, cheddar cheese, egg, chopped shallots, and chopped meat. Mix thoroughly.
Shape the mixture into small 2.5 cm balls with your hands. Roll each ball in breadcrumbs until fully coated. Place on a separate plate and let rest for 15 minutes.
Heat oil in a large deep pan. Gradually add the potato balls and fry until golden brown. Remove and drain excess oil on paper towels.
Garnish with a little chopped shallot and serve immediately.
