SAEDNEWS: The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge officially opened on September 28, 2025, in Guizhou Province, southwestern China. With a deck towering 625 meters above the Bipan River, it now claims the title of the world’s tallest bridge.
According to the Science Service of Saed News, this bridge, spanning a total length of 2,890 meters, features a main span (the suspended section between towers) of 1,420 meters. It forms part of the S57 Guizhou Highway, connecting Liuzhi and Anlong counties, and is designed to significantly improve transportation in the mountainous region.
One of the bridge’s most immediate benefits is the dramatic reduction in travel time across the Grand Canyon edges: previously, alternative routes took about two hours to cross; now, the journey takes just two minutes.
Beyond its practical function, the bridge is considered a major tourist attraction. Planned features include observation decks and stunning panoramic views. Rigorous load-testing—such as stacking multiple trucks—was conducted to ensure safety and structural stability before opening to the public.
