Saed News: Follow along with us as we explore the images released of the mysterious treasure of the Egyptian Pharaoh.
According to the History Service of Saed News, the trumpets discovered in the Pharaoh’s tomb include two military trumpets made of silver and bronze, decorated with images of lotus flowers and Egyptian gods. These trumpets were identified by the famous archaeologist Howard Carter, who discovered the tomb.
The Cursed Trumpet
There are many rumors and superstitious stories about these trumpets, claiming that blowing them would cause a major calamity. Seventeen years after the discovery of the Pharaoh’s treasure, a radio host and documentary maker decided to play the ancient Egyptian trumpets live on a radio program so that people could hear their sound. On the final attempt to play the instrument, the musician placed a modern mouthpiece at its end, put the trumpet to his lips, and broke it. The instrument was repaired, and another musician was chosen to play it.
On a spring day in 1939, about 150 million listeners tuned in live from the Egyptian Museum to hear the trumpet sound. He played an impressive melody with both trumpets.
A few months after the radio broadcast with the two trumpets, Britain entered World War II.
The Pharaoh’s Trumpet
The next time the silver trumpet was sounded was in 1967, just before the Six-Day War between Egypt and Israel.
When it was played again in 1990, its sound coincided with the start of the Gulf War. The last time it was played was in 2011, almost immediately followed by the Egyptian revolution.
Nowadays, the curse of the Pharaohs is confirmed as a rumor, but the silver trumpet is so fragile that it can no longer be played again.
