Kolmakareh Cave in Lorestan: Over 50,000 Valuable Antiques – A Stunning Blend of Art and Authenticity!

According to the History and Culture Service of Saed News, Kalmakareh Cave is a historically significant cave located in Lorestan Province in western Iran. It lies within Pol-e Dokhtar County. In the Luri language, the name “Kalmakareh” means “the place of goats (mountain goats) and figs.”

This cave is one of Iran’s prominent historical caves and dates back to the first millennium (around 800 years) BCE. It once served as the storage site for the royal treasures of the Samatura family during the Elamite civilization. Situated in the central district of Pol-e Dokhtar County, Kalmakareh Cave was officially registered as a national heritage site of Iran on August 13, 2005, under registration number 13119.

Numerous artifacts from ancient Iran, including almond-shaped bowls and highly valuable vessels, were discovered in Kalmakareh Cave. Unfortunately, due to negligence by authorities, most of these treasures were removed from the country.
